Presentation Made Last Week at TrailBlazer Event

Last week I had an opportunity to meet great people from non-governmental organizations at São Paulo.

I am very happy on being able to exchange Social Network and Social Media experience and at the same time be able to learn a lot from companies working on the third sector.

Congratulations to you all and thanks for your participation.

I had to break into two different ones, called part 1 and part 2 due to adhere my blog file sizes limit.

Here are the links to download the presentation files:

Exam Magazine Review on Productivity Tools Alternatives

I would like to share with you all this article.

I can assure you that start using another productivity tool is much more related to a cultural barrier than with a technological one.

I personally started using Symphony since may this year and last month I decided to uninstall MS office from my computers, since I was not using it so far.

Guess what? I not missing it neither having problems to communicate and inter-operate with the rest of the world!

Breaking old paradigms is crucial for Innovation, mainly you own ones.

Presentation Made at KM Brasil 2010

Hi,

I am really sorry for the delay on posting this presentation but I was unable to connect for a period after that congress.

I would like also to thank people for the great experience and learning opportunity that I had on the KM 2010. It was a real pleasure to meet all people there and be able not only to share IBM experience on KM  and support technologies but also to understand what other companies and their executives are doing and looking for around Knowledge Management.

Even though the financial and other business dimensions are very important, an organization is mainly made out of people, and people is where knowledge stands and innovation comes from.

Some folks also asked me about the tool that you can use to open the presentations. They are in open source format and you are able to open it with IBM Symphony, which you can download for free at http://symphony.lotus.com, but also with BR office, open office and even with MS Office.

See you soon,

Presentation On Innovation that I’ve done in Fortaleza Yesterday

Yesterday I’ve participated in a very interesting congress in Fortaleza about Innovation in which I decided that I am going to share all presentations that I usually do, here in this space.

Feel free to reuse slides whenever you need. I just ask whenever it’s possible to reference this blog.

For future ones I promise that I’m going to do a better job on speaker notes.

Music Festivals (Reflections on SWU Festival) – It is time to make our dreams come true!

I am really happy to have some featured bands in Brazil. We’ve been missing great festivals for a long time (since latest Rock in Rio in 2001) but…

I am really divided in two different and contrasting feeelings while writing this post: A good one and another, that keeps banging in my head, not that good.

Good things about SWU

  1. Place size (area)
  2. Line up
  3. Diversity
  4. Initiative itself
  5. Alcoholic drinks not being sold to under 18
  6. People, people and people

Not good in SWU

  1. Hotels/hostels availability
  2. Road to get to the show
  3. Distance
  4. Public transportation availability
  5. Lines everywhere (to buy tickets, food, drinkings, restrooms, and etc)
  6. Security and safety were clearly in second place
  7. Environment appeal was just in words not on actions

I must emphasize that I don’t want to focus neither on things that could be better managed nor in good things but on our ability to change things.

I am really hooked on music and live shows, an event like a festival is not only about the music itself. It really is about the experience you have once you are there.

Great and diverse people, good atmosphere, surprising musicians, long expected shows, nice time, things to remmenber forever, and so on.

A better balanced “emotional” versus managerial actions would result in a better festival and experience for both general public, artists, organizations, business partners and so on.

This post is trully a reflection related to the fact that we are able to do things that we generally don’t believe that we are able to do. You know, there are a couple of things that you never think you can achieve but in this case, except for the exceptional ammount of money that needed to be invested before the festival, I would say that we (me, each one, and all of you) could really do better than the SWU organization did in terms of experience.

Usually the first (stopping) thinkings that come to our mind prior to any project execution are: I’ll never get that, It’s gonna require a huge ammount of effort, Why? What I win? It’s never going to work!

While later reflections are comonly related to mixed feeling depending own you own experience: Nice experience, would be better if, unforgetable, tiring. and etc.

WE CAN CHANGE THINGS IF WE REALLY GO FOR IT, IT IS UPON ON US!

Lets make our dreams come true. Starting by exercising from simple replying this post with your answer on what was/is/would be involved the best festival experience idea you already had/could have!

For now I would ask you to avoid discussions on bands, line up and so on…

The mains drivers are:

  • Place
  • Schedule
  • Infrastructure
  • Sustentability
  • Inovation
  • Entertainment
  • Acessbility

After a six month period I’ll put all main ideas listed together (including their respective owners) in a proposed project plan and make it available.
